    Best multiple server monitoring system?

I would like an extern monitoring system to check https, http etc. and it should be able to send a SMS if something aint working right?
e.g would it be possible to have it login and request a file from a password protected area to make sure the servers are running correctly and not just responding?

    Please post our best options

NetSaint changed it's name and all development is now under the name "Nagios". It's very nice. There are a lot of plugins available for it, too.

Nagios is very complicated to install but it's very nice. But he asked for an external system guys, websitepulse.com does exactly what you need. Siteuptime.com and hyperspin.com are a bit cheaper, also nice, check their free trials.

                Update: websitepulse.com
Hmm it doesn't seem to support any UK sms providers ?

Is there any UK people in here who can forward me to a solution with SMS alerts?

I have heard good things about Siteuptime before, but have never personally tried it.
