It could also be that the domain is either coming up on renewal time or has passed it so they locked it until its either renewed or slips into the crack where they charge you beaucoup bucks to get it back orrrr it goes to the sales list

Chemical, look thru the registrar member area real well. Some of, or maybe most of (now), them allow you to lock or unlock the domains on your own.

Just take it as a blessing that alot of registrars are setting lock to default (and having the option to unlock it inside for you). Imagine how many domains this has prevented from being jacked. A few years ago it was rampant at times.

I use directnic and you can lock and un-lock domains depending on what you want. I keep all mine locked. If I ever wanna un-lock them I can just change it in the admin area of directnic.
I post on GFY so that when people ask me what I do,
I can tell them that I work with the mentally retarded.Comment
