Just how is that scamming? Just because someone owns a lot of sites? Not sure I understand that.

None of the sites actually have content. They are virtual link farms, organised so that by linking to each other they can boost all of their PR's and take out good keywords. Than they stick a entry and exit popup, some blind links, redirects and wait for the money to roll in. -

As in my last reply, I love anchor text that is relevant and in synch to my keywords and url....
For instance... The guy who is #1 for free porn... His system is that his url is 1freepornfinder. His keywords are free porn and or variations of that phrase. He always asks for a text link that say free porn or #1freepornfinder. In this way he keeps the keywords, the linkback, the anchor text, and the url all in line.
As you asked about being relevant... Yes, being relevant totally helps. If you are a free porn page and other good free porn pages link to you, it means more than a good paysite page linking to your free porn page (again this is theory)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Why are you trying to compete for 'free porn' ?
Wouldn't it be an idea to find a more productive term(s)?
Troels - I am not trying to get free porn or competing for it. I was using it as an example. I understand that there are much more productive phrashes out there. It was just that his model was one that was easy to use and understand. If Biff Fucks My Mom... I Might Never Be Born...Comment

Eventually one of the sites will get reported as spam and in one fell swoop the entire network of related sites will get a 0 also.Originally posted by Odin88

Not if each of them is on a different IP, and atleast makes an attempt to show some relevent content. Anyway, I can think of a few ways to combat that problem if it did arise (kind of like terrorist cells really ;)).Eventually one of the sites will get reported as spam and in one fell swoop the entire network of related sites will get a 0 also.Last edited by Odin88; 11-04-2003, 03:04 PM.Comment

the spammers fill up the serps with their own sites, that's not a real problem especially if they are relevant to the search. if i want to get better rankings than them i need to optimize my sites better.
the scammers take expired domains and use the pr to fill up the serps with non-relevant, usually non-adult keywords and then slap dialers and beasty sites and all kinds of stupid shit on unsuspecting surfers.
i had thought that meta keywords were dead until i started looking for certain non-adult products, and lots of the searches are coming up with keyword stuffed metas that redirect to cj bullshit.Comment

Yes they will trust me. The Google Algorithm is smarter than that they look at the overall linking structure of the sites. If it is too circular they all get canned regardless of IP, domain ownership and so on.Originally posted by Odin88

Yeah, but this won't last... Google has been dropping sites that go expired and suddenly pop up a whole different site from a different ip now take a drastic change to grey bar However, it doesn't seem to happen in every instance.the scammers take expired domains and use the pr to fill up the serps with non-relevant, usually non-adult keywords and then slap dialers and beasty sites and all kinds of stupid shit on unsuspecting surfers.
Also if you are in the USA and your jacking mainstream urls and leading people to beast sites or CP sites, they are really coming down it. I think it was a month or two ago that someone was actually jailed for doing this.If Biff Fucks My Mom... I Might Never Be Born...Comment

Believe me, I don't care if these spammers and scammers get hammeref - I would be happy for the most part. But if the google algorithm can not already catch their very simple scams, I don't see how a much more involved one (one which I have already developed in my head and would be relatively easy to put in to practice) is going to be caught too soon.Yes they will trust me. And anyway, a good SE spammer is making a few thousand dollars a day atleast, and I am sure if (after 3 weeks) google pulls them down it won't take them long to start submitting their backup network to google and have it listed. I accept that google has to do something, and hopefully this is a move in the right direction. But I am sure that any descent SE spammer will outsmart it with out too much trouble.Comment

It just seems easier to work on a clean and simple model that works it's way up. Spamming and scamming probably take more time than doing it the old fashioned way. Also, the longevity of your listing is nice. You don't have to worry as much about seeing a network of spam/scam suddenly disappear. And anyway, a good SE spammer is making a few thousand dollars a day atleast, and I am sure if (after 3 weeks) google pulls them down it won't take them long to start submitting their backup network to google and have it listed. It takes weeks of hard work to organise it all, but I am sure those who are confident they are going to earn thousands of dollars daily for it will still continue on their way. I can generate thousands of keyword-specific pages that return relevant third party links in about 60 seconds. Within a few minutes it's uploaded and once google indexes them most of the keywords will be first page. It really doesn't take time if you develop smart software.Originally posted by GonePhishing

I would think they'll add something to combat third party cloaking scripts and the like. Nonsense text with keywords mixed in can't be too hard to detect, and all they have to do to see if it's cloaking is use a different IP to spider with a common user-agent.
I'm hoping my pages will be OK.

Think of it this way say we have two sites site A and site B. Site A has 100 inbound links and out of those 100 inbound links 95 are reciprocal. Site B has 8 inbound links and all 8 of them are non-reciprocal. Which site do you think will rank higher? Assume everything else is on the up and up and as equal as possible. Play this out a bit more ( I should be getting paid for this) if your site is new and you have few inbound links in order to avoid penalty very few of your links can be reciprocal. The best case is they don?t count your inbound links. The worst case is they penalize you in PR. As someone else indicated, it is the pattern they are looking at. As your site linking pattern gets closer to a circle the more trouble you are in.
This Article will Give you Guy's And Gal's an understanding of what technologies and people you are competing with !
Here somthing that I had written a while ago to help dispell the myth:
Most self professed SEO'S are full off the standard huff and puff But there are a good handful of us out that actually know what we are doing.
After all a good SEO Live's eats and Breathes Search engine traits and technologies. This is the information that we are constantly learning and trialing, we can only then provide this experience to the webmasters and make the necessary enhancements and recommended modifications so that we can do to a site what no one else can without the invested time that it takes to obtain the knowledge. So we can with confidence to our client?s say ?That?s what makes it more Search Engine Friendly? and that is what you are paying for.
This information does not come CHEAP if you want cheap use an auto submitter or pay someone like Ineedhits or some of the other websites that profess to get you into the top 10 positions but for $99 dollars expect $99 worth of info....
You should be looking for return on investment not a way to get rich quick - I would have thought if these $99 SEO techniques worked well we would all be doing it and all making a shit load : )
But on the other hand you want your site in a prominent position with out the cloaking and doorway pages that run the risk of being banned use a good SEO and be prepared to pay $$$$ and always ask for references and examples of there work to date
A good SEO will pride himself on the fact that he will understand the business he's working for and the demographics of the targeted traffic his client is after and then and only then will he be able to do his job....
Example of this is a client in the technology finance arena www.cssfinance.com.au they get paid a commission on lending monies and they had tried everything to get this site listed on the engines - hence walk in Me - we now have them sitting in the international arena under computer leasing http://www.google.com/search?source...omputer+leasing NOT BAD out of 981k competition also under the terms of computer finance there where number 8 yesterday but have dropped back to number 11 ( this will be addressed) today
Or another Example of our work on our own site www.affiliates.com.au http://www.google.com.au/search?hl=...le+Search&meta=
This has given them over 500 new prospects per day and out of that they receive 40 or so Good contacts per week
Do the maths : )

GETTING INTO THE FIRST PAGES OF GOOGLES SERPS IS NOT FUCKN ROCKET SCIENCE
You blokes that reckon its all top secret and requires shitloads of tech knowhow and inside knowledge are full of yourself.
I know fuck all about computers, made my sites with dreamweaver3 on a discarded pc with windows 95 and I have been sitting in google's 1-10 results for months on
VERY COMPETITIVE TERMS.It can't be that hard!
You need text on your sites but then again you can even get away with out much of that, you need links coming in but then again if you build on a expired domain you dont even need that.
In fact the only thing you need is a link to a sponsor!
