I wanted to add another very important tip into the mix for successfully playing the linklist/freesite game.
When you create a free site, pay special attention to the title of your site. Use strategically selected and relevant keywords in your title that match up to the theme of your site. Now that you've come up with a juicy, keyword laden title, use that same title when filling out the submission form of a linklist. What you've now created is "target text" for the search engines to use when visiting your site from the linklists.
This is extremely important because most established linklists are visited daily by the search engine spiders, especially Googlebot. Chances are, when your free site is placed in the "new listings" section of a quality linklist, the SE spiders will see that listing, see it's target text, follow that link, see the title tag text (which matches the target text), assign it relevancy and eventually add it to the directory under those parameters. Now if you have that same scenario across many linklists, your relevancy for those keywords will go up, giving you a better chance of a high keyword listing.
The more specific the keyword title, the better.
Don't use stuff like "free teens" or "free porn" for your title. You won't be able to compete with the other sites in the SE and you won't see much if any traffic for those keywords from the SE.
Use titles like "Thin Asian Perky Teen With Tiny Tits"
There are many descriptive keywords inside of that title and many, many combinations that can be made from them. You've increased your chances of a relevant SE hit one hundred fold by doing this.

Definitely. This is part of targeting and filtering your traffic. You won't have folks who aren't interested in asians coming and burning your bandwidth.
Make sure your content matches your sponsor, make sure your text matches your content, make sure your title matches both.
Also a BIG thing - use meta keywords and descriptions. Some folks will tell you it's a waste of time, but trust me - it's not. Google still uses the description when it returns search results to a surfer, and other search engines still rely on both of those meta tags. Make sure these are targeted to the site's content also. Generic stuff won't help. Target your traffic.
Originally posted by mb To anyone that doubts the power of linklists, just do a search for "porn" in google and look at the top 4 sites. All linklists.
A ridiculous amount of traffic comes from a top 3 "porn" listing in google. Trust me. Almost any decent search term will bring up link lists in the top 10. Why? Because we list all sorts of sites (free, AVS, pay) and those sites are hand picked for quality. Those same quality sites get their own SE listings and in turn bring us back quality, relevant traffic. The SEs see this relevance and rank us favorably in the listings.
Take some time and build free sites. I promise you they will make WAY more money in the long run than any TGP listing could ever bring in. Keep in mind that many linklists will keep your site listed forever. Or at least a very long time. That will bring you sales for months and months into the future. Not a few days like a typical TGP listing.
If you have any questions regarding link lists or free sites, please leave them here and I'll be happy to help you out.
Make the enter link a bigger font than the other links on that page if you want to get listed at most places. The thumbs in gallery 1 don't match the big pics. A lotta link lists won't accept sponsor content and they want the pics to be at least 500 pixels wide. Hope this helps.
Originally posted by GFED I heard that free sites give pretty decent quality traffic so I started making free sites... here are my first ones... The only person I tried submitting to so far is greenguy, but I didn't get listed...
I think I get the right idea of them... enter page, main page, and two galleries... would you list these?
Sorry to bump an old thread, but i have a few questions...
I just got into the adult biz after a few months of reading about it etc...
Alot of people say you don't make money the first year and negative shit like that, but i'm not hearin it, I finished high school and I'm taking a year off to slave at the biz so I can be financially comfortable in college in september 2004.
To start off I plan on purchasing a set of content a day and creating 1 gallery and 1 free site out of it and submitting the shit out of it, and also working on developing relationships with TGP and link list owners so I can get better listings.
Anyway, i was very excited when i found this thread cause it's gotta alot of golden info in it. I've been submitting galleries for a month, and today i made a free site, and i'm about to submit it, but before I do I wanna see what you guys think of it.

Too many sponsor links on first page, use one of them to link to a hub instead for recycling traffic.
Your site needs a title on the warning page.
Use real text instead of janeybored.jpg OR use alt="" tags
Ducuments are missing title tags as well.
Those unclickable thumbs are anoying, slap some animated text on top of them ad make it banners.
Gallery 1 gallery 2 linsk are off to the side. They draw too much attention, line them up right and if you must off-set somehtign offset an ad or banner so IT gets the attention instead.
Put text or move ads to seperate the two row of thumbs in each gallery.
Ads are not agressive enough.
You have alot more to learn ma boy. Research the big link lists to get an idea of what to do.
This is something I have often wondered, but I have never seen discussed-
What happens when the surfer viewing a gallery with purchased (not sponsor) content likes the look of the girl, so he signs up at the sponsor, but can't find her? The gallery is not an entirely accurate representation of the content of the sponsor site. Your thoughts?

What iwantchixx said is a little harsh but true. LOL
He is trying to point you in the right direction for making more money. Like he said more "sellable" text talking about the site will make surfers click more. And sell the site on ALL the girls available at the site otherwise when the surfer goes to the tour he won't see "Jenny" in the tour (pointed out by rowan) and won't sign up.
Otherwise, I think you would get listed at most link sites as you do not have more than 3 links to sponsors on any page which is the norm. Add a title and you're set.

If I use a model that is not on the site I sell the site not the model. Talk about the site and what the site has to offer, more girls like this girl.
I'm still deciding whether or not to turn smutgiant.com into a link list or tgp. I started off building it as a link list, then thought TGP would be better because there would be more traffic available.
I think I might sway back to making it a link list... what do you think?

I'd do both... and send traffic to your linklist from your tgp...
great thread guys, thanks for bumping it
if you want submit to my linklist (check the "www" to the right. Not that much traffic, but it's all about quality and your sites will stay there for a very long time
So any suggestions?
Have looked at a few:
LinkAdmin - usefulscripts (approx 400)
AutoGalleryPro - jmbsoft.com (approx 100)
remember I'm a total newbie - don't understand anything - take that into consideration when giving referrals - so they have to install it and has to have an easy interface.
Any suggestions or good words for the ones above?
Thanks :-)

It depends on how you want your LL to look like and how you want to handle the templates.

Try Focalmedia if you're looking for a "yahoo" style directory. The good thing about their software is you can use the same DB across several sites.
