    can you suggest a camcorder?

i was thinking digital, but i guess it doesnt have to be.

price is not important, but im not spending over $1k

Im not doing any professional shoots, but would like very clear, high quality video.

Ease of use, and size are important.

was hoping to get feedback on equipment you already have, i can read reviews until im green in the face, and i still dont trust um :/

    anyone?

There are camcorder reviews done by people who actually own them. You realize anyone recommending a camcorder on GFY would actually be giving you a review?

can you shutup please? i just want to know what kind of cameras people own, and if they recommend it.

dont need a debate about it.

For less than $1000 I don't think you can buy any camcorder I'm going to recommend...

Oh maybe you can buy a second-hand Canon GL1 or GL2 at eBay. My recommendation is for SONY VX2000 - doesn't have to be new.

Anyway 3CCD cameras are way better in terms of colors and details so be sure to get one. The SONY has an incredible "Steady Hand" function that you can use as well.

You can contact me if you decide to spend more than 1k - 18822023.

I just got this and so far it Rocks, it's brand new latest model.
Sony Baby It's a few more bucks then you wanted to spend, (after a few accessories) but well worth it.

guess i will have a hard time, most of you are saying to spend no less than $1k per camcorder, and i wanna get 2 of them for less then $1k lol

                            need to rethink this :/

i dont see how you can expect to spend 250 on a camcorder when the canon a70 cost $300 i thought about buyin a camcorder instead of my a70 they are just too expensive for how much i would use it :\

the parents dont have a PC so a camcorder is fine.

and i already have a digital camera, looking to pick up video now.

I tried to find the same info -- but really there are so many new options now it's hard to know what to choose. I'm sure there's probably some video card you can add to your PC to record video off your camcorder -- but does that expense justify not going with a camera that will let you download video directly off a USB connection? I don't really know what I'm talking about -- but like you said -- the issue is getting quality video and sound onto your machine -- but the most cost effective way to do that is a mystery to me... I'm thinking it might be a good idea to just get a nice video capture setup on your computer -- at least that way if the camera breaks you can replace it cheaper -- and also now you can rip stuff off TV, DVD, etc... and I'm guessing that if you get some kind of multimedia hardware for capture of video -- it will also have some video editing functions wired into it...

i have been trying to read up on it with my little time i have, seams as though ANY camera can output to a pc.

1 camera will upload direct via usb or something like it. another camera will have IRC jacks and you just need to buy an input card for pc, cant be much money.

im thinking just like you, it must be better to have the card and the cheaper camera, then replacement is dirt cheap compared to buying ALL new equipment.

hope this helps, both of us lol
