So Who's wedding was Jesus at when he turned water into wine? If you read that and think about it, it sure is written as if it was Jesus' wedding.
Also a new bride would annoint her husbands feet three times during their first year of marriage. In the bible... guess who annoints Jesus' feet?

My lady Trayce had a thought that seems to explain even better why there would be some long standing "cover up." What if Jesus WAS NOT married to Mary but they had children anyway?
The supporters of the "married" theory find plenty of references to the relationship of the two.
The supporters of the "not married" side say nothing in the history mentions they were married, they just speak of them being close.
So what would it mean to the church if their central figure was just fine with having children out of wedlock and pursued a relationship long term that didn't include any official ceremony?!

It's not just my thought... it's something I'd put money on. What about all those stereotypes in books, movies and stories... redheads are usually the whores (I'm a redhead so I can say that!), and the "hooker with the heart of gold." And why else would this be such a huge deal unless they had a child without being married... that's the best reason I can think of for the church to want to cover all this up, ruin Mary's rep and send her packing to France. Besides the fact that ::gasp:: Jesus chose to listen to the wisdom of a WOMAN over his other male friends sometimes or perhaps most of the time. why wouldn't jesus of gotten married? in the bible jesus goes from 12-35 with no mention of what happened inbetween. back in those days everyone got married. the mormons believe that jesus was married as well, and that the wedding where he turned water into wine was his own.Comment

Not everyone... that whole custom of having a wife AND a girlfriend is very European. (Not saying that Jesus had both, just pointing out that I'm sure not everyone that was in love got married.) I'm sure there were still those petty families that were like "She's not good enough for you..." and I'm not sure of my historical facts here, but perhaps she was a prostitute before she became Jesus' best friend or something. How do you think it would look if the King of Jews was in love with a prostitute? Gospel of Mary is a mess, but you can kind of guess. There are phrases like "And she kissed him on the _____" and they have to go on the length of the space. So the guess it is mouth or foot or something instead of "rock hard throbbing member"

But nowhere does it say she was a prostitute. That was invented by the Catholic Chirch.
The supposition is that the early catholic church was misogynistic (maybe maybe not). Anyway. They needed to discredit her and her followers so the conveniently removed refrences to her and books that said anything positive about her and introduced the idea that she was the fallen woman that was to be stoned. Bible doesn't say that. Just an assumption based on what the catholic church put forward.
Other interesting cultural things, Mary and Joseph are titles. i.e. Joseph of Arimathea was John, Brother of Jesus. Mary meant that the woman was married.
One of the three wisemen was Simon Magus. (the Magi ;) ). Now that opens a serious can of worms. Google Simon Magus and see what's there.AIM - DivXVOD
