Are nets really worth that much? I agree it's a nice one word domain, but you really get some .net typins?

15 - 20 typins a day can't support selling a domain that high can it? If so, I have one worth 20k right now.

It is a one word .net relating to a huge industry

.net is the 2nd best extension to have in resale

the .net is generally worth 1/8 of the .com

can we agree on that?

.com sold for above $50 000 and under $100 000 was the best i could get from the person who sold it

which would make it worth at least $6250 and up to $12 500

so why am i way off?

and why am i selling for less than what it's worth

I simply need the cash to pursue other domains.

Dude, as a newbie, you really can't say, "I'd really appreciate it if no one did [blah blah blah]..." and expect anyone to listen. Heck, that's just asking for it. I'm a recently come-out-of-lurking newbie myself and even I know that.

But, I would agree that the domain is worth a few thousand. The fact that it's a .net makes it maybe 1/4 the value of a .com, if that.

As a newbie not wanting to piss people off: Anyone think it's a bad idea to start a new thread asking people's input in assessing the values of certain domain names? Or is that too business oriented?
