What The Freakin' Funky Fuck??!

Hey, I just cracked a beer, switched the ol' rack here over to auxilary and loaded up some funky 80's hair tunes to get me motivated for some serious site buildin', but when I came back to GFY and checked out one of the topics, this horrendous fuckin' noise started eminating from my Bose 201's!!! What the fuck? Is this specific to certain threads? Or is there some way to turn that shit off without turnin' off my hair tunes? I ain't never heard no shit like that...

This one's got me scratchin' my mullet in bewilderment!

Probably RF interference from your monitor...unplug it and see if it goes away...if it does, just move you monitor a few inches one way or the other...if it does not, beats the piss outta me.

Well... what I meant by noise was, there's some kinda .wav file playing or something... god only knows what it is, but it's playing at the same time as my tunes... it's not actually interference type noise... I think it's either some kind of event wav file or some sound file someone linked into their sig....

Sounds like some kinda opera music...

OK...next guess...it could be RF from a local radio staton. Wiggle your speaker wires around and see if that helps. They may ahve come slightly loose from the connections, and the radio could be getting through the shielding. Kinda like when you can hear a radio station thru your phone line.

No dude... it's definitely a wav file coming from somewhere... gotta trust me on this one. This is a very high end system I got runnin' here. There's no interference from anything comin' into this rack. The speaker cables and interconnects alone run at $400.
If you got sound on your PC there, check out my thread on "Spam with your BBW Sponsors" and give a listen.... that's where it's coming from, but I don't know if it's a GFY "Feature" or if it's linked from something else. It's the same sound file every time.

Mike or Wizzo...? Any help here?

I heard that wav too a couple of times I had headphones on this terminal. Never listened to see what it was. I suspicion its Lane trying to take over our minds...

Is it possible one of the Flash banners have audio? I think there was a celebrity cash banner that was done in flash. I always surf with my speakers off so I haven't noticed anything.

Well, I put a bandaid on it....

Opened up and adjusted the EQ for the tunes and pinpointed the event/system wav audio and dropped the fucker to zero.... it's still playing (burning resources), but at least I can't hear it over Kix - "She Dropped Me The Bomb"! HELL YA!!! HAIR RULES MAN! (yes.... I'm drunk now. God I love my fuckin' job!)

For an example, stop the music, go to the "GFY Hall Of Shame" Forum and click on Wizzo's "Test" post. There is a sound file there.

Remember html is enabled on this board, so it's easy to do lots of things, including simply embedding a .wav file.

I used "view source" on that page, and it's from Wizzo's smiley face post. The source location of the wav is http://www.cashtour.com/spam.wav
and I believe it's from Monty Python.

By the way, if you minimize the page and then restore it, the wav plays again.
