Guess we will be pulling their webmaster referral links then

Did they mail out their affiliates about this?

a lot of programs are doing this now, I think it's mainly because of the new VISA rules.. only affect new joins not current webmasters

I like the picture to the left that says "Aly will make you a 10% webmaster referral bonus"

Do they have an automated phone system where you can enter the referring webmasters ID?

i know that the lightspeed guys are around somewhere

the affiliate program filtering is an excellent idea, imo?don?t think that it isn?t possible to get hit with 100-200 chargebacks in a month from 1 affiliate

And when Louisa or one of the others of us creates your account, we are sure to ask you if someone referred you.

If I don't know you, and I can't verify who you are, then I don't want your traffic. I'm quite happy staying under the Visa radar, and as programs start going under, the scammers are gonna look for a new home.

Our door is open and we welcome new affiliates, unless you just looking to play credit card games.

Our crew is the easiest in the industry to get ahold of, day and night. If you got legit traffic and are serious about this industry, we'll happily open an account for you.

Actually, I think it has been like that for awhile.

I tried their link about 2-3 months ago (maybe less) and noticed the same thing.

All the better for them if they can afford have few webmasters - less saturation - and make money.

I've had my sig here promoting LS.

I've seen banners all over tgps promoting LS.

LS is the ONLY sponsor i have listed at my tgp's webmasters/submission page.

There must be plenty of wm resources sites with ref codes pointing out to ls no doubt.

Removing credit for webmaster referrals and not sending out an email or a news entry at your stats is a very shitty move

That being said i still encourage webmasters to sign up, under my ref code (pretty much impossible anyway) or not.

Expect to see these types of steps being taken by more and more programs as things get tighter. There are companies that are on the verge of collapse because they played things too loosely in the past. We plan on being around for the long haul and feel this step is justified. If you want to use a program that doesn't care about the future then you are probably not the type of affiliate we are looking for. Our program is a Partnership program and trust should be a two-way street.

Yeah, I know what you mean. Trust in a relationship is the most important thing.

It's like sponsors who put 2 consoles with no-console links. I just stopped using them.

I explained what happened in another thread, and the problem has now been fixed. Mistakes happen, and mistakes get corrected.

We weren't trying to "slight" our affiliates in any way.

Now we have a true no-console option at Lightspeedcash, as well as a "console lite" version that many of our affiliates are kicking ass with.

I reckon it's a good idea. I'm sure it'll have a large impact on fraud, but i agree with others who have said it was shitty not to inform affiliates who are referring webmasters.

Click through your referring link to lightspeedcash and look at the url -- low and behold, there is your reffering code. When people call we ask them to give this to us.

We are mostly trying to stop people who sign up for dozens of accounts specifically to bang each one with a handful of fraudulent charges. We found one affiliate who used this trick who now accounts for 17% of our total chargebacks.
