Would YOU consider the Military now?

got a call from my recruiter...I've been honorably discharged from the reserves a year ago...my recruiter calls every couple of months and asks if I want to re-enlist and I keep telling him "Hell No"...

But there is a kind of glamour going around the world and being in combat...At least it seems like that on television cause i've never been in combat...

I might even consider it if I was able to still run my site from a Navy shio or at a Military base..

Would any of y'all consider chucking everything and going back to the military?

My son is in the middle of the enlistment process for the USAF. Personally, if you're doing OK already, I'd forgo it. He's in the situation where he's smart as heck, doesn't do too well in school (too much partying), and is lazy as all get out. He NEEDS it - you might not.

BVF military is for younger guys, after being out 5 years ago i wouldn't know how i could handle authority knowing what i know how it is in the Civilian world.

Personally i believe every person should do atleast two years of service before going to college. Most 18 year olds don't know shit about how to be an adult. It gave me a good foundation in life and helped me be what i am today

What makes you think your better than the person that joined the service. there's over 300 different jobs in the military and less than 10% ever deal with actual combat.

To a certain extent for sure you give up alot of rights. The hardest thing for me to do one time was too tell a Husband that he could not live in the same house with his wife because of their problems.

But if a 18 year old person with only a 840 SAT score, 2.3 GPA. and Didn't have rich parents decided to serve and become a productive person in society than its all good.

Oops i think i just described my life.. LOL

When I was 18, I Enlisted for 3 years. Went in as an E-1 in 1986 and got out as a E-5 in 1989.

While I don't really miss the service at all, I gotta say it was some of the best 3 yrs. of my life. The Army helped me become a better man, person, leader, etc. I sure grew up some in there.

I recommend College to any 18 yr. old, but if you don't want to go, or want to wait, join the service
