    Fuck it..I've gotta wipe this whole computer...How can I do it easily?

    I have a virus on my computer that has http://aifind.com as my start page no matter what I do, and Norton can't get rid of it..

    Now my laptop is starting to freeze on me 3 times a day and I haven't been able to run a full norton system scan because my computer always freezes before it can even fix anything.

    So what buttons do I have to push to get rid of EVERYTHING and start over to reinstall my OS?

      1. Backup all your shit
      2. Insert your bootable windows installation cd and reboot. Follow the prompts

              Your computer probably came with a restore or backup or reinstall cd?

              Find it and put int in the drive and reboot.

              If I was you though.. first I would get Hijack This, CSW Shredder, Spybot Search and Destroy and Adaware, and run them in that order. (google em..)

              Generally that catches everything.

              Then when it's all fixed.. STOP USING INTERNET EXPLORER.

                          If you format, make sure you know what kind of video and sound cards, etc. you are running.

                          You will want to get the latest drivers directly from the manufacturer's web site after you reinstall the OS. (or if it is a Dell or something like that then check their web site to see what they have there)

                          You should try running adaware and spybot search and destroy first.

                                                  I've got a similar problem maybe you can help me. My laptop is totally jacked with some problem with lsass.exe and my computer goes into '30 second shutdown' mode all the time... I'm ready to say fuckit and format c:

                                                  But how do I really format c: without fucking the disk up so it doesnt boot my Install WinXP CD?
