Actually it IS Canning Street, North Carlton. Well spotted, weasel! I found the photo on the site for North Carlton Primary (AKA Lee Street), and it's of particular interest because I lived in the north-west block of that intersection for 20 years of my life. I took the colour one above to try to reproduce that image. It was quite difficult to get the angle right as I didn't have a tripod, and I think I would have had to be on the road itself to match everything up exactly. It was close enough, anyway...

Yeah, live in Brighton. Don't think I have even been to Canning st but it just looks like a typical inner suburban Melbourne st..

I used a Sony F717 for those snaps. Since moved to a film SLR.

somethign i just snapped with my slr.. problem is i have to scan the prints and they lose that sharp digital edge.

yeah.. two more panoramas - they're not done up as well as the last.. by far, but yeah :D

First one is from a 15 storey crane or so I'd gather..

The second one is 150m up
The white, very well lit apartments is where the first panorama was shot from.

In the second photo, check just to the left of the last crane boom - you can see a ripple effect in the glass, similar to the one from the original matrix. weird!

Driving from Montreal to San Diego.... was hard to get a good shot while actually driving... wanted to get the curves of the road, with the desert and the high montains in the back... but the roads were swerving a lot hehe...

This was taken following route 90 I believe towards Las Vegas...

I shoot digital on a sony f717, but iv'e recently changed to a canon eos 300V (film)

i love digital so so much, but there was logic behindthis move - canon are owning the digital market, and within a year will have a lower cost full frame digi. I figured i may as well change to canon and use that time to slowly get all the gear i want, so when the time comes that they do release it, all i have to do is buy a body!

the 300v is a simple body, but with a few tricks + practice you can really make it perform!
