Well obviously I can't say for sure since I don't know any of you....but in my humble opinion you fucked up big time.
First, read your own words "she told her husband that i helped her out with bills and that was the only reason she talked to me"
But you say you never helped her with bills, that means she was lying to her husband...why would she lie? to cover the real reason she talked to you...and since it wasn't money...had to be you but she couldn't exactly tell him that.
I won't even get into the crap about the fax, you already know you fucked up there...but i'm not so sure you have figured out that there is a chance she never lied or decieved you...it was her husband she was lying to...not you.
