When I joined the board I never started a thread and introduced myself, I just started posting in order to avoid all that stuff.
Rule Number 2: A lot of business happens on this board, you just don't see most of it. A lot of times business does not start with a post that says "lets do business" a lot of times it comes from getting to know others in the business during their "down time" on the boards. You start chatting on ICQ, deals are discussed and made.
Rule Number 3: This is not Chrysler Corporation and your friend should understand this is the PORN business, so your friend should stop comparing her experience here with that of a general work place and expect people to behave in a business like manner. Look at the URL.... Go Fuck Yourself...that should be a clue to you and her.
Other than that, relax....chill...and tell her welcome to the boards for me
