damn that would be impossible in l.a. theres gotta be at least 2 million numbers in l.a. not to mention the people who have no home number and just have cells. thats a great idea though.

Out of curiosity I called them later to ask what's up with that.. They wouldn't tell me anything about the kid and the circumstances (not even if they found his home already), but they did say that they called about 10,000 people in the area between 4am to 5am. All calls originated from Denver, CO (some emergency control center that provides the system to them).
