Did someone wake up at Verotel's bank? Shitloads of check bounces.

The value of check bounces in the past couple of days equals nearly a third of my gross sales amount in the past week... check sales are usually only background noise, but not when all the bounces happen at once! Is anyone else seeing a heap of bounces?

I had the same thing with another processor so it may not be Verotel only.

Escortbiz, I am very close to disabling new check signups. I run two similar sites, one gets its traffic from 2 years of freel^H^H^H^H^Hbookmarkers, search engines and links from blogs etc, the other gets its traffic mainly from TGPs. Roughly 80% of checks are GENUINE on the first one; 80% of checks are FRAUDULENT on the second one. TGP traffic seems to be bad news when it comes to checks.

Could this potentially be the start of the downward spiral for Verotel due to Visa regulations?

Didnt one of the other processors start getting a heap of chargebacks / account debits before they closed down?

Checks have nothing to do with Visa.

High levels of fraudulent signups via checks seems to be the norm for adult sites, at the end of the day the decision to offer that method is based on the value lost by people gaining unpaid access to your site, versus the value gained due to the genuine signups that could recur nicely.

                  That wasnt my point.

My point was previous processors who closed down started to pass on additional refund charges tot heir affiliates.

It would seem to me that if things *were* not as they seem at Verotel that check processing would be the one way they could collect funds without raising any immediate suspicions.
