hey you guys with the InFocus X1

have you used it during the day in a room that's not dark and how well can you see it on a white background?

i noticed the X1 was 1100 lumens and the new X2 is 1600 and even new i think at the best deals i can find it's at most a price difference of $200 to get the X2. so more lumens is better especially for a daylight image.

I wouldn't use it for a daylight image anyways... the darkest blacks are only as dark as your wall. So if you're getting a projector, i wouldn't worry too much about the daylight proformance.

with a good quality projector that's not true. they do good daylight images these days, just like a tv nearly.

The X1 really sucks. Don't think about watching if you aren't in a dark room. Oh and more lumens is always good -> this way you can lower the lumen amount and get more contrast. Running a 1600 lumen projector and half its lumen output will double his contrast (sort of... long story). I would reccomend spending at least 4 grand for a decent projector. Sony has a few priced around 4K (DLP) and the diffrence is mindblowing.

True, but they cost around 25 grand for a nice dark black during daylight. So don't think about watching during daylight if you don't have deep pockets. (I own a Barco Cine 7 priced at 20000$ (but bought it second hand))

shit i just want one for my office to play my ps2 on while i'm at the computer, so i figured the x2 was perfect. the office isn't bright but it's not totally dark except at night.

i just wanted to sit at my desk and play ps2 on a 100 inch screen

Yea my x1 is barely watchable during daytime at that size. I have normal blinds on the windows and with them closed its just barely watchable. If I got some good blackout shades or curtains itd be much better.

i have an InFocus that has 2500 lumans.

just draw the blinds and works fine..
