More Acacia bullshit

After a 2nd phone conversation with those people, I was told the following:

Me:
Ok, now I have taken out the 23 links from my sites which led to videos. Can you send me a letter stating that I am not infringing your so called patent?

Acacia:
No, that is not possible, you are linking to galleries which contain pictures and banners, when those banners are clicked, they take you to sites which offer membership for picture and video content.

Me:
You must be kidding me!!! I can't link to site or galleries with movies on it, and now you claim I can't link to picture galleries which promote a sponsor which offers videos and pics?????

Acacia:
That is correct.

Me:
Well, then I will put the movies links on my site and you'll see me in court.

A couple years back Ticket Master took someone to court for linking to their site, it didn't hold up. Now someone is trying to take you to court for linking to a site that isn't even theirs. Ahaha!

I think they are still confused on how the adult industry works or they are totally overwhelmed with all the shit they have stirred.

In their mind if you link, as an affiliate, to a site which offers video, you are facilitating a patent infringement. It sounds totally crazy and un enforceable in a court of law.

Yeh, ok.

In their words if you are an affiliate of a sponsor's program, if you link to that program's hosted picture galleries, you are liable to pay the licence fee if the sponsor offers video.

so bacially.. because my cable modem is hosted on the same server as some body that promotes an affiliate program with pictures that has movies in their members area i am infragmenting on their patent and i must pay 2% or what i pay my cable bill.. that's basically what it's like

I'm sure Acacia links to child pornography at some level -- unless they have no outgoing links to any sites. Someone should point them out to that or file a complaint with the police suspecting them of linking to child pornography. Of course I'm only joking, but it'd be funny.

I don't think that's the exact case.. what they may be meaning to say is that if you are linking to a site that has audio/video and that site has not licensed their patent.. .AND you are deriving revenue from sending them traffic (ie. being an affiliate), then you are a 'contributory infringer'.
