I have a little experience here.
There is one test you can do and that is a bead test. Shake the quart up and when the beads come to the top, if they are firm, crystal clear like then it came from a good batch.
As for those of you that haven't tried the flavored batches, well it cuts down on the bite a lot. Peaches is about the best to flavor shine. Oh and whorehound candy sticks are good to use too.
Be careful though they are some people out there that run shine through radiators, and that will kill you.
