Horrible movie, but when you are like 5 years old it was super freaky.
No Way...that is the same one I was going to choose as #1

That cartoon movie with the rabbits....

And the farmer came to mow the field and there were bloody bunny parts flying everywhere.

Hmm I wonder what the name was.

          Watership Down?
That was a kinda freaky cartoon for it's time. I remember watching it in like 3rd grade in a dark room. Kinda bloody in spots for kids. When the rabbits are being buried underground and they run out of air and their eyeballs roll back in their head and they make pained faces. Trippy. And the Art Garfunkel music in it was scary too

            Oh yes... that was it.

From the cover it looks like a nice little kids movie with bunnies huh?

Except 10 seconds later there were bloody bunny heads everywhere.

That's just too much for a little kid.

Jabberwocky was a sort of strange movie to watch as a 3-5 year old as well.

Trilogy of Terror - you don't have to apologize for liking this movie, it's a total fucking classic!

the head twisting scene in Exorcist fucked me up when I was a kid and (dating myself) Michael Myers. I saw Halloween in the theaters when it first came out, I literally snuck all the way home peeking around and under cars to make sure nobody jumped out at me with a butcher knife on the way.

Watership Down used to upset me too but I still watched it every time. I keep remember my uncle going on about how it 'wasn't a kids movie'

Wow! So much love for Trilogy of Terror !!!! I can't believe it. i thought I was the only person on earth who ever watched that movie....
The oven scene was bad-ass, then the lady is just sitting there in teh middle of the room squatting down jamming the knife into the hard wood floor over and over....

I gotta go rent it for this Halloween!

I'm born and raised in Sweden so 'jaws' were pretty 'exotic' to me and not really 'real' but it still scared me. Now that I live in LA there's NO WAY I'm getting into the water! Pools are enough for me lol I'm scarred for life

When Freddy's ass was in the alley in the 1st A Nightmare on Elm street. I wasnt scared, until he reached out those loooooooong arms and scratched the walls....I almost shit!

Then, I saw Candyman. He only said one word; "Helen". I havent been THAT scared of a black man since! I had to buy it when it came out on DVD.

I lived about 2 blocks from the "Excorcist Stairs" in Georgetown, (Washington DC) for 2 or 3 years. They are right at the foot of the key bridge.

Know the scene I mean? When the priest takes a big nasty tumble and dies on the severe freaky stone staircase? Those stairs.

I loved Watership Down, but I read the book first. It's one of my favourite books of all time, but yeah, it's not a kids book. More like Lord of the Rings but with bunnies. The cartoon was never meant for kids. Still an awesome movie, though.

As a book, "IT" freaked me out. But I was 10, so that could have been why. The tv movie just couldn't touch half the material in the book, so it didn't do much to me, esp. the fake looking spider thing at the end. Arg.

Children of the Corn scared me for sure!

I think I read too much...

The scariest movie on my list is:
                                                  Night of the living dead
the origional in black and white 1962 I think

after reading some of the movies that other people have mentioned in this thread i will have to say that i was traumatized by more movies than i previously thought including...

                                                      Exorcist
(completely forgot/blocked out) Trilogy of Terror
                                                      Magic
                                                      Night Of The Living Dead
                                                      Texas Chainsaw Massacre (original)

and maybe someone can remember the title of the movie about a girl who is baby sitting and the phone keeps ringing and a guy keeps saying something about watching the babe and finally the police trace the call and tell her, "the calls are coming from within the house"
                                                      Are you down with Sin?

Alien- That movie fucked me up completely. I still do not eat Green beans. The damage is obviously permanant and I became what I fear most.

That one freaked me out big time!

Very sad, obviously the Disnery version is nothing like this.

The scene where he's chasing the woman.. gets her.. and stabs her over and over and over and over and over and over and over again.

There was a scene.. in the lunchroom.. where Kevin Bacon asked his friend how his date was.. his friend does the "jack off" motion.. it was then I knew how to jack off! Went home and did it the first time.

Am I the only one who learned from that movie how to jack off?

I can't really remember many horror movies that fucked me up honestly, I hated horror and still do for the most part.

I went to church as a kid, and at some youth thing they showed this movie that was like what the end-days were going to be like of the world. Basically your typical evil government controlled by the military hunting down all the "good people" and killing them, and how the world was all fucked up (like 200 degrees in the sun and stuff). Back then it fucked me up. Nowadays it wouldn't phase me.

The other movie I saw when relatively young that freaked me a bit, was tremors. Heheh, I'd always walk on pavement and shit afterwards for a couple days.
