This same thing happened to me.
I got two Acacia letters, one was made out to my name, which was valid. Then two days later I get another one made out to my name and some weird company, TBG Inc. or something. So obviously at this point I'm thinking someone is giving out my info and I must have used a bullshit company name to signup somewhere.
I came on GFY that day and heard that people though Matrix was giving out info, so I went and logged into Matrix Content and saw that same company name, TBG Inc. (I've never used this company name anywhere else, it's not even my company name).
Fuck Matrix, I'll never buy shit from them again.Comment

Alright i was not going to post anything at all about this. As some of you know i used to work at Matrix for some time .. and this is not like them to do anything like this.. Although it sucks that you are all getting letters and shit... but the reality is this ... Acacia is after all of us wherever they got the information is irrelevant they are going to find you whether it is you home address, your P.O. Box, or your grandma's garage they are after everyone.
You should quit trying to figure it all out and try to help the guys that are fighting it any way that you can.
I got one and all i did is called them and said "I do not own a website at all" they said sorry we made a mistake and will take you off this list..
Quit yelling and screaming this and that and do something about Acacia. Hell there are a lot of things that you can do to help fight the patent. But be reminded as Spike has said. Until the patent is disproved you are still liable to pay them. Sux yeah. But it is the law until it is disproved.chAos

I used to manage direct mail operations for several casinos, where part of my job was "standardizing" adresses and presorting the mail so that we can pay the cheapest bulk rates for the postage. In Richie's case, either the street doesn't exist in that zip code or that address is not in the range of addresses on that street. That's why the mailing software didn't put in a 9 digit zipcode for that address. The mailer has the choice of choosing a close match for the street name & sending it with the other bulk, or they could send the mail out as addressed at the full first class rate.
There is no guarantee that the mail will be delivered to the correct address, but a lot of times it will get figured out correctly.!Comment

I recieved either my 3rd or 4th letter from Acacia the otherday all sent to the address Matrix Content has of mine. Matrix is the ONLY one that has that address still. I know cuz I keep that particular address VERY secretive for personal reasons. Funny how Matrix is listed on that letter as one of the cooperating companies too!
Matrix (Rat bastards) have recieved their last business from me & I've been buyin' from them since their begining too.
And, of course, all Acacia letters have been filed to the round file.Comment

It does matter who handed over the list. Would you do business with a company who sold your credit card to some kids in Eastern Europe?
Matrix should be suing Acacia. Based on what Norm has said so far, anything less is bullshit.
The release of this list, however it happened, is going to cost many people thousands of dollars and if you don't see a problem with that, it's because you care more about Matrix than you do about all of the people who are being hurt by this.
If this is Matrix's list, then they have cost people a lot of money - there is no excuse for that. They need to sue Acacia.Comment

I have bought alot of content from Matrix over the years. I have been keeping an open mind as to who did what.
But the proof is now over mounting that Matrix sold us webmasters out to Acacia.
Yes alot of companies have settled, including my company, but never ever ever would we even dream of giving up our webmaster information. Our bread and butter, our hard working loyal webmasters who got us where we are.
Shame is not the word, this is Disgusting.
Matrix speak up man why was I one of the first companies to get the package. Did you single out my company.

If indeed Matrix pursues legal action, they can ONLY do so if Norm is telling the truth.. and the people who are in here accusing and yelling at them are going to look very stupid with egg on their faces..
