I have never ever had a downtime. Well once, and it was for 20min and like 2-3 admins where working on it within minutes.
I have 24/7 live support.
(Probably) more different bandwith providers than you have.

Why do you keep asking if it's so impossible if they're able to do it? Look at the math, numbers don't lie. I'm sure ServerMatrix and EV1 are using licensed copies of Windows 2003 but if you've got other companies willing to do this I bet there are some in the bunch using pirated software.
Don't ask me why I don't want to give you those prices... with these simple facts, you should be asking them what corners they might be cutting.
And unless I mis-read something, this whole "shitty bandwidth" and "shitty boxes" concept is new to me.
Finally, and just to make you REALLY spin, most of us "Big Boys" that won't sell that low are still paying near Cogent prices for Tier 1 bandwidth, too. LOL

On another note, it might be more reasonable to do ONE windows box with 5 separate IP's capped at one meg each in the $500 a month neighborhood wouldn't it?
If you're only doing 1 meg per box what do you need 5 separate boxes for? Hard drives are so big these days its ridiculous, surely you can fit what you need on one big server.

Finally, the point of this thread was not to poke fun at you but rather to see if any other providers wanted to pony up an offer for you. If you can't see that then you're obviously too pissed to be thinking rationally.
