My dad took me to see " The Green Berets" when I was 10. The scene where Peterson gets impaled on the punji sticks gave me nightmares for years.
What movie scenestraumatized you as a child?

When I was like 10 or 11 my folks went out and I snuck past the sleeping sitter to watch HBO and A Clockwork Orange was on.
It was on the scene when he kills the cat lady with the giant penis.
Definately fucked with my head, never even seen a R rated movie let alone something like that.Comment

Fucking "Jaws" man.. I lived in San Diego and went to the beach everyday. Saw that movie at a drive-in when I was a kid and was scared shitless from then on. Everytime a chunk of kelp would brush my leg I thought I was a goner. Took years before I would go past waist-deep in the ocean. Even pools at night would freak me out some.Old SchoolComment

Poltergeist. The scene when the piece of meat starts crawling on the kitchen table. Then the guy goes into the bathroom to wash his face and suddenly his skin starts to melt. To me a while to get over that. Another movie that kept me up at nights was Stephen King's Silver Bullet.Comment

It's pretty pathetic, but the monster from Earnest Scared Stupid.... I was always afraid he was going to run after me and turn me into a wooden figurine, if I was out after dark I would run home as fast as possible because I would swear he was chasing me.
Damn I suckComment

When I was around 5, I had an aunt that took me to a double feature of Soylent Green and Phantasm.
The scene where the little ball flew through the morgue and drilled into the guys head, fucked me up bad. I had nightmares about the tall undertaker guy for literally years. I moved my bed away from the window and slept in a fetal position for a year because of that movie.Comment

War of The Worlds
I thought the earth was really being invaded by Mars. I kept looking out the window waiting to see the Martian spaceships flying over our city.
Funny thing is when I see that movie now it still gives me the creepies.

I thought I would be badass one night around about 11 years old and sneak down stairs to watch the Toxic Avenger in the middle of the night on cable. The scene where they run over the kid and then the scene where he puts the gal's naked ass on the sauna coals...I freak just thinking about both.Comment

In no given order.
Scene in deliverance.
Few elements in the hills have eyes.
The music in the first Amityville horror.
Part of my bloody valinetine. (dunno why)
My number one scene that traumatized me as a child. <drum roll>
When jack in the box had the ad campaign that lead up to blowing up the jack in the box head on national TV.
Had recurring dreams every night in which jack would chase me down and catch me. When he did he would threaten to kill me and serve me as hamburger if I allowed them to blow him up. The dreams got more and more violent as the deadline approached, and when the blew him up I could not sleep for several days until I was medicated by my parents via nyquil.Comment

when i was about 5, i was home sick. some movie was on tv that involved a killer fungus in the jungle that somehow involved electricity.
some chick paid some guide to help her find her father. we come upon this cave and there's his face in a rictus grin on this rock on this electrified fungus.
i had nightmares for years about this one second scene, and i don't even know what movie that was.Comment

Trilogy of Terror:
Mid 70s made-for-tv horror flick with 3 short stories, the one that freaked me out was this little voodoo doll figurine that came to life and ran around the house 6 inches high wielding a giant steak knife. That one freaked me out big time!
here is a pic:
the voodoo dude is in the center. [shudder]
Horrible movie, but when you are like 5 years old it was super freaky.Comment

Shit where to start?
Jaws
Phantasm
Salem's Lot
Humanoids from the Deep
But the worst one was a movie called Magic. It was about a ventriloquist and his puppet. But the puppet was alive and could kill people. I was scared of puppets after that.
Oh, and that movie called Food of the Gods where the rats grew to giant size and ate peopleComment

IT.
I had this guy inside my head when I was going to do dream control my first time, he was going to take over but I was stronger..so I fucked him up. Haven't been thinking on him..but they probably live inside of your head for the rest of your life.
try dream control, it's a rollercoaster.

I have three that jump to mind:
When they cut open the kangaroo ride-em thing in Star Wars: Empire Strikes Back to not freeze to death. Poor thing! I cried! I was.. 5 I think.
In "My Life as a Dog" the kid put his penis in a coke bottle because his friends told him to. It got stuck and he had to ask his mother and doctor to help get it out. I think they smashed the bottle with a hammer.
In "The Serpent and the Rainbow" when the guy gets buried alive. I was umm 8 I think.
Yes, my parents took me to see all these movies. They're weirdos.
Oh yeah, Poltergeist has to be my number one. I couldn't sleep during storms because of that stupid tree reaching in the window and eating people!! And then the clown... ahhhh!Last edited by Elli; 10-29-2003, 02:59 PM.email: [email protected]Comment

I have no idea what the movie was (probably some "made-for-TV" movie). This kid was trying to prove to his friends how well trained his parrot was, so he put on the ground and told him to stay, while all the other kids gathered around and threw rocks at it til it died. That was the first time I ever realized people could be mean to animals.See what's new at

I must disagree. I've had all sorts of rodents and rats are my favourite by far. They don't bite at all, and are quite smart, and they know not to pee on you, unlike mice and hamsters. And they don't chew through EVERYTHING like hamsters and gerbils. Oh, and they don't act like furry bars of soap like guinea pigs do.
