Regarding our own licensing of content. I know that we do have several partnerships with producers in Japan, probably a similar situation to DTI but I do know that unlicensed content is being used pretty much throughout the Japanese market. It is illegal to produce uncensored adult content in Japan, and therefore this is why so many DVD sales shops, and movie sites have been created. IF the content is Produced in Japan, I am pretty sure they cannot stop someone from using/stealing it as they are creating the content illegally anyway. Basically a catch 22 situation. (however, I do not know the legalities 100%)
When it comes to censored content, then this is a totally different situation altogether.
I leave the Japanese content to my colleagues and deal with the Western content that we have. We are a Japanese company that has been in existance for over 5 years with no problems. We have just signed an agreement to get exclusive Idol movies from some of the largest Producers in Japan.
DTI are our main competitors. However, they charge alot more to their members but they are seen as being a more "luxury" service in Japan. Sort of like buying a Mercedes rather than a Lexus. However, for those in the know, we are pretty much the same, just the fact that we offer downloads rather than streaming.
And yes, Japanese women are gorgeous. Just go to some of the scan sites that are out there. maskmelon being one, or check out some of the Asian TGP's, you will be pleasantly surprised

I'll try and help as much as possible.
With regards to definitions. AV means Adult Video, and therfore alot of people will say Japanaese AV.
Idol is basically one of the famous actresses that are out there. These girls normally do several movies and get quite a following. Therefore these girls are known as Idols, AV Idols or Japanese AV Idols. Age of the actresses does not come into it. However, you can say Teen Idol or Mature Idol to categorise them.
99bb has alot of Idol content, but we also have alot of "Urabon" content. Urabon pretty much means "underground" which is more amateur in appearance and is completely uncensored.
Regarding content distributors in the US. I know that a few producers in Japan have partnered with US companies with regards to this. Adultlegal sells some, but also hustler has Asian Fever that it distributes via its plugin service. Typhoon, a Japanese Production company has good ties within the US, and this could be a good souce for licenses.
