San Diego Fires - Holy SHIT!!!!

I live on Soledad MTN Road in La Jolla, which is where the 52 and the 5 meet in San Diego. I can see the fire and smoke from Balcony. My friends and I went out and looked at the fire close up. The flames are huge and the fire can't be stopped right now. I've never seen anything like this. I'll post some pics tonight. Its getting close.

No one knows yet. I have heard everything from Arson to a lost hunter setting a signal fire.

The 100,000-acre fire started Saturday near the mountain town of Julian when a lost hunter set off a signal fire, authorities said. The hunter was detained and may face charges.

Reminds me of the Hayman Fire here in Colorado last summer.

She was a forest ranger that was pissed at her husband so she burned a letter that he wrote. She was sentenced to 20 years in jail I believe.

Sounds quite familiar. My neighborhood (Port St. Lucie, FL) made national news back in 2001 or 2000. (not sure which) A fire broke out and swept across our neighborhood and and many others. I think the final count was 59 homes destroyed, no lifes lost though. I remember how scary that shit was....i drove down a street 2 blocks from my house and had like 30 ft. flames on both sides of street. The inside of the car felt like 120ºF just being that close.

Hang in there partner~ hope the fire spares your house.

Heh, I live down the street from you, across the 5 though. Its
freaking mad around here. Was in RP earlier until we saw it
coming up Carmel Mountain. Several of my friends lost houses today, not fun at all.

And to think, most of the 'big' fire caused by an ass hat with a flare gun.
