        I use it, works great.
You get to pick the area code and city you want your number set-up in.
works like a regular phone where you make and receive calls with regular phone set.

Reguires you already have a broadband type internet connection.

Vonage provides the Cisco ATA device when you sign-up.
After signing up, you receive the device shipped to you within a week.
Hit me on ICQ to get a $40 discount on vonage.

The Cisco ata (analog telephone adapter) plugs into your broadband internet connection.

For best sound quality (high setting) the Cisco ata sends / receives 90K both directions.

There is no geographic restrictions with it's use, but does require a broadband (DSL or Cable Modem) connection.

The Cisco box comes reconfigured with your master area code and number.

Example, if you live in Boston, and traveled Japan. you would take your Cisco unit and telephone handset with you.

people calling your local Boston number can reach you, as if it were a local call.

Plus, you would make unlimited calls to usa/Canada.

even if you were in Japan. when you called people, your Boston number would appear on their caller id.
