I've got to get one of these but I know nothing about them. What specs should I look for and what all do I need with it? Thanks!

Samsung has the best DLP image sets I've seen.
But you might want to check out the most recent Sony LCD models that have some new enhancements over previous LCD models.
I was comparing a Samsung DLP to the newest Sony 50" Grand Wega LCD and the LCD's picture was the best.

You have to take a look at your Contrast Ratio.
The higher, the better
Mine is 2000:1 and it's great + take at least 1100 lumen, not sure if they still make em with less tho. Thanks to: ISPrime.com - best hosting company without downtimeComment

get a second hand barco cine 7... I got one! The new model hit the stores (think its about 25K$) so the second hand old model can be found at around 3-5k$. Best of the best... blows every DLP/lcd out of the water. You will have to let this baby be installed by a professional, can't do that yourself. But if you want something new check out the latest epson LCD projector (don't know model) it KICKS ASS (yes!yes! I know LCD but have you ever seen it?)
(edit: the cine 7 is a CRT projector... VERY bulky. Best tip: get a good vendor and ask if you can take the unit home for a test spin. I tested like 10 projectors ranging from 750$-15000$ and then I stumbled on a old cine 7... sold instantly.)Last edited by strobi; 10-26-2003, 05:47 AM.Comment
