I appreciate your comments, but if you can't appreciate the beauty of an overcast day -- you got problems... My guess is that the photographer took this pic at this time of day with this weather for artistic reasons -- I ran with the feel of the pic and kept that feel consistenet with the the laptop, the boat, text, floor, etc...
If you've been following Sony.com's website and products (the current leader in the design of popular high-technology) and the Powerbook you'll see they have been using similar "overcast" colors -- it goes with the latest trends so Neriah's site is up-to-date.
I'm glad you noticed this... In fact there's no gaussian blur, there's no blur at all. That's a stroke on the text selection at a very high resolution brought down to 800x600. The "blur" effect is in fact intentional -- I used complimentary color "blue" to play/vibrate off the color of her flesh and sky -- with an opacity to softly integrate with shapes of the text with the shapes of her body if you noticed the alignments that I made -- a harsh edge would be too disruptive with her body -- believe me I tried it.The pale blue stroke you used around the text was okay for the white text, but it makes the word Neriah look blurry, almost dirty. For a design that seems meant to capture the interest of wealthy, sophisticated gentlemen, I would expect crisp, clean text, not a gaussian nightmare. The goldenrod and the light blue also neither compliment each other nor contrast in a way that is appealing.
It's funny you say it's blurry when most comments so far has been that my design is crisp. In reality the outline of the "NERIAH" text is about 1 pixel at this reslution -- so I'll take it as acompliment that I achieved this "blur" effect
Maybe when you grow up your definition of stimulation will change.Overall the design is appropriate. I see where you were going. But it lacks interest and visual stimulation and it doesn't seem to be as well thought out as you claim it to be.

Dude, you can defend your design all day long but the bottom line is - it is not SEXY. Doesn't make you think of sex & there's nothing sexy at all about it. Overcast colors might work for Sony but you're not selling electronics, you're selling a Playmate. Yea, maybe the "N" lines up perfectly with her tits, maybe you've got the most artistic, modern design, maybe the ship in the background represents some deep, hidden secret about her psyche but the design is NOT SEXY. It's 100% UNSEXY. You're not selling art. It IS very artistic & I've seen your paintings on here & they are excellent but porn & art do not necessarily make good bedfellows.
