Yeah I saw that too , I am like he cant give them the common courtesy to wait to open his mail lol. I am assuming this is PR after signing with Acacia. First, it's digital video on a website.

Second, one of the defense statements being heard that tries to justify Hustler's settlement is that internet is a small part of their of their business model.

Here is what Mr. Flynt said in the interview:

XBiz: How has a solid Internet presence affected your profits?

LF: Dramatically. The last figure we've seen is about $1.3 million per month. And that's just from our website. I know for a fact that its great because I know a lot of my competitors are not doing that well. Even Playboy is not doing that well.

XBiz: Is your Internet presence more of an accessory to the established business you had going, or did you really go into it for a new revenue stream?

LF: I went into it out of curiosity. The first five years that we did it on our own, we were profitable, but not nearly as profitable as we are now.

$1.3M/month..... wow.... $15M+ must not be considered a significant portion of their overall Gross Revenue.

Another point is that Acacia's patent covers Video on Demand.. which does account for part of their revenue.... so Acacia is not just about internet-based audio/video.

just a note of reference, Larry speaks the way he does due to the accident that put him in the wheelchair.

that is how he speaks today.

though there may have been some audio/tech issues, we chose to run the video because of who he is, which is more important in our opinion.

If memory serves me right, The speech problem was not from getting shot . It was from a stroke he had years later. I have great respect for Mr Flynt for building something from nothing. But once again he wasnt fighting for us he was fighting for him and his business. Because of him fighting for himself , we have benefited but I dont think helping others was on the top of Larry's agenda and it doesnt have to be. He is a business man not Pope and it is childish to make fun of the way he speaks. Also remember nice caring guys dont become rich men from nothing, driven ruthless men become rich men from nothing.

Thats why I listen to NPR for all my news I read all the articles and get a few of the mags. I sometimes read a cool thing I didnt know or something to help my business, I will not deny that. We are now in rough times and there is no press to ask the tough questions for us. I also understand someone buys a shit load of advertising and you're not going to run them over the coals. I am a businessman I can understand that. I would rather have a news site I pay $10 a month to be a member of and get the hard articles and interviews, one that doesnt depend on ads like NPR . Infact I just pledged to them today

Granted. It was not my intention to make Larry out to be a sweet heart, for to be whole heartedly honest, the man kind of scares me, it was however my intention to get the point across that the man hasn?t done anything detrimental to these people making fun of the way he speaks, which I think we?ve already covered and agreed on. Dropped.

That being said, blanketing the man as cold and ruthless because he has built something from nothing probably isn?t the most accurate way of looking at it either. With the money and power Hustler holds in this industry, he could effectively take the approach Mr. Gates takes to business, and wipe out his competitors, but he doesn?t, and I have to believe that is a conscience decision, regardless whether the motivation is greed or love.

As a side note 404, you are correct, his speech impediment was the result of a stroke that occurred years after the shooting, I guess that?s what I get when I let my emotions write for me instead of my intellect.
