I think Muslims mostly just want control of their whole neighborhood in the Middle East and getting rid of Israel. Once that is accomplished if it ever is, the Muslims will settle down significantly.
If we stopped supporting Israel tomorrow, the terrorism against the US would stop for the most part.

I think the extremists are as insane as Hitler was, yes.
As they have
never lived in peace, I highly doubt erasing Israel from the face of the map (their immediate goal) would make much difference.
