No because there is room for human error. However oval track, twistys (road courses) the stick has a huge advantage. With the proper clutch it can withstand a beating without heating up like an auto would and allows the driver to use his skill. You can not downshift properly going into turns with an automatic without beating the hell of it (dropping it into L1 or L2 etc.).

there is a place for both.
