    Need 10 Mbps per month Ded Server hosting

    Looking for a ded server service like below:

    - Intel Pentium 4 2.4
    - 10 mbps transfer per month capped or uncapped (if uncapped it's 50$ per additional 1mbps)
    - 1 GB DDRAM
    - Linux RedHat 7.3 or FreeBSD
    - 80 GB disc drive
    - Fully managed
    - Weekly Backups Included (with cpanel)
    - NO SETUP FEES

    Will PREPAY for whole year. Budget is around $3500 for whole year.

    No Cogent/Verio BW please!

                          1.)because primarily cogent

                          2.) it's unmanged

                          3.) 3 weeks until another server is available

                          but for the price you are asking i dont think you fond a better price then rackshack ;)

                                                              A server like that at most companies would be a minimum of $1k, and most likely much higher. C-panel alone carries a nice price tag. You want good quality bandwidth for $30 per mbps, that's insane.

                                                              Save yourself the trouble later on and choose a quality host now instead of a one man chop shop.

                                                                              Talk to Mike at webair, and he'll hook you up with a great deal. But dude, not that deal. Those prices are insane. There's no way you're getting a deal like that unless you go 100% cogent. How can you have enough traffic to need a 10mbps box, but have such a low budget? Doesn't add up. If you're planning on growing into it, then i can see why you'd want a big plan. However, most hosts are very flexible. You could probably have your plan changed on a whim at most of the big hosts.

                                                                              If you do actually have enough traffic to warrant a 10mbps box, then stop being such a tight ass!

                                                                              I totally agree with Brad on this one. Anyone who can offer that deal is not going to be around very long.

                                                                                                                                                              I don't know about the rest of you, but I think that it's totally stupid to pay for 1 year's worth of hosting on a NEW host that you're just gonna pick because they honor your expected price.

                                                                                                                                                              What's gonna happen if 2 months into the deal, you realize that the host totally blows ??? I'd be willing to bet that you're gonna find that out because if someone can honor that, they must not have a good setup.

FDC has their own datacenter. They are almost like rackshack, not a one man operation.

He can use FDC in combination with outsourced admin (Bobcares.com) and he can use www.easymonitor.com which is free.

                                                                                                                                                                                              I think FDC is also month to month, unless he wants that free month deal.

He asked for fully managed and was going to get unmanaged.

                                                                                                                                                                                                  For someone who doesn't know how to manage a server and is expecting someone else to do it, to get an unmanaged server is a mess.
