"As of 6 p.m., Seattle had received 3.76 inches of rain since midnight, already breaking the city's one-day rainfall record of 3.41 inches set Nov. 20, 1959 and it was still raining."
you bought an umbrella ?!?!?! i've never seen a local with an umbrellla.... then again... i don't leave my place much =)
haha
this is my first umbrella. my i had to catch a cab six blocks this morning cause it was raining so fucking hard. since i live downtown and walk everywhere, i figured i'd get one.
actually today it seemed everyone i saw had an umbrella. the people who didn't looked stupid.

my walk home was a nightmare. LOL i got a new umbrella, and i still got soaking wet walking only 6 blocks.
i kinda like it cause i don't feel bad about not doing shit, and i get a lot of work done.
oh well, summers here are awesome so i can't complain.
This is true ;) i may just get some gortex gear if the entire winter keeps up like this! usually it's not this bad. i may just take your tip and stop by Patagonia tomorrow.
Ya, I just got a new place in North Seattle (didnt move too far, lived in shoreline before that) and the rain here has been fucking HORRIBLE these past few days. Driving my girl home last night when it JUST started to rain was hell. All the oil on the road and I almost hydroplaned countless times. Then everytime a semi drove by itd spray mist all over my car and I could see ANYTHING, heh.
Fuckin' Seattle. The summer's are great, but the rain can be hell

yeah, normally that's how i am... but i don't wear shorts in this shit. but today i said fuck it ;) i live in belltown and it's windy as hell off the puget sound. i just wish it would go away!
Federal Way here. I love the rain. It's been coming down so hard at times today that I can't see Maury Island or the Sound 3 blocks below me for that matter.

i have views of the sound, needle and lake union from my place. at times today i couldn't see the needle nor the sound, and they are about 4 blocks away from me. i don't mind being inside in this weather, it's very cozy
I hated Seattle the first five years I lived here, having moved from Philly.....
All it did was rain and it was grey all the time...
And, then we moved to the hell they call Georgia....and it was 11 months of that bright yellow thing which scorched my eyeballs and caused my skin to break out in strange eruptions....
Fortunately, hell only lasted three years and we moved back last year.
I noticed something I had not noticed before...and, that was..
Seattle goes through weather changes sixteen times a day....grey....then shades of grey..designers would love the spectrum of colours.....then the sun comes out and then it mists...and then does a little cloudy and the cycle begins again....
In the summer, there is no bluer sky than Seattle...and the mountains and the water......fabulous.....
There are beautiful places all over the world....but...I'm a webmaster....I'm in front of a computer all day....what the hell do I care whether it rains...or drizzles...or pisses, as we call it....
I love it here now. Glad I got a second chance and I've got Mount Rainier pretty much in my back yard...I'm about 40 minutes south of Seattle.
New all time record for most rain in Seattle. We had over 3.6 inches from midnight to 6:30 pm local time. It's STILL comming down in buckets..so who knows what it will be like at midnight.
Other outlying areas have had as much as 8 inches of rain by 6pm.
The one benny out of this is that it is VERY mild for this time of year here. It was in the upper 60s today and continues to be mild at night.
But if you're hair tends to get frizzy in high humidity..you don't want to be here right now.

I left Seattle last year for some year round sun in Tampa, FL. I can now drive my Harley 11 months out of the year. The rain and dark clouds just got to me. I was raised in Seattle, but after 35 years of rain with maybe 2 or 3 months of being able to drive a motorcycle, I had to get out.
Nothing better than people that live in Seattle and bitch about the rain.... That just cracks me up.
Hell, i moved here for the rain and gray weather. This summer was fuckin bullshit. I thought I was trapped in some nightmare called California all summer long. Hot and sunny all summer. It stayed that everthing started turning brown.
I'd rather be stuck in the rain than surrounded by dead shit everywhere. The absence of green is just depressing. I wish i lived in Gotham .
Pack yer bags and head on down to California. I know a person or two who've left here for their weather and never looked back. They love it down there. Different strokes .... ;)
SIG TOO BIG! Maximum 120x60 button and no more than 3 text lines of DEFAULT SIZE and COLOR. Unless your sig is for a GFY top banner sponsor, then you may use a 624x80 instead of a 120x60.

Fuck yeah someone finally gets it here. Why the fuck you live in Seattle and not like the rain??

Interesting what you say about designers liking the spectrums of color.
If you look at SoulCash I specifically took color samples (The blue and the orange) from a picture of a sunset from the east side.
Are you kidding? I love this weather. I've had my windows open and loving the smell and sounds of this rain for the last 24 hours. It's been great.
Sure I got a little waterlogged going out to the mail, but I'm not outdoors much anyway. My poor fiance almost drown coming home from work today, but that's his fault for leaving the house and not staying home to make porn sites with me.
I've been dying to move here since I was a kid. Finally moved and the first thing I did was buy some gortex everything and a nice Seattle Sombrero at the outdoor store. Sure it was August and there wasn't a cloud in site, but I knew it was coming. I've gotten good use out of it the last few years. Today it was shorts, sandals, rain coat and hat down to the post office to pick up checks.
The rain I love. The cold I could do without. Pretty soon we're going to be cheering when the high is in the mid 40's around here. I'm enjoying this warm rain while it lasts.
Bush can no more fire Rove than Charlie McCarthy could fire Edgar Bergen.

I moved to Seattle August of 97
... clean air, beautiful lush green trees and grass everywhere (not talking about weed), blue skies, and 78 - 85 degrees every day...
FOR ABOUT 3 WEEKS!
... then it rained for 10 MONTHS STRAIGHT!!!
ARRRGGHHH!
LOL
Don't get it twisted
... I loved Seattle, and the people were great ... and it really didn't rain for 10 months straight ... BUT ... it WAS grey and dreary for 10 months straight and misty and it rained almost everyday at some point. Kinda depressing for sure!!!
After almost 2 years it got to me ... and I had to move back to LA.
NOW I LIVE IN SAN DIEGO ... and this place is friggin' PARADISE!!! Condo on the beach ... sunny and in the 70's every day ... LOVIN' IT!!!

I think I'll be here a while!
You got a couple of couches that me and RobertD can crash on?
Just until next August when the sun comes out again.
I was looking for a job, and then I found a job
And heaven knows I'm miserable now
