I had no idea so many people are html clueless until I really started doing major projects for others and learning how unequipped most really are.

Which puts the rest of us at an OBVIOUS advantage, which can be seen clearly by taking a look around.

Yea, that's why anybody hiring a designer who also says they know HTML should TEST THE FUCKER HARD..... sorry, no offense. It's just every "designer" I've worked with who said they knew HTML should have said they knew how to export HTML from Image Ready..... bah!.

notepad.exe since 1997.

Time is a factor now so I use use editors for tables and such but knowing the raw code is a big plus.

because the wysiwygs are imperfect and likely always will be. Sometimes they fuck up code and you won't even see it when you're looking right at it. Doesn't mean you gotta code completely by hand, let the editor do its job, but you should be able to if you need to make tweaks and adjustments. Not to mention if you need to track down a problem source, how are you going to do that if you don't know what you're looking at.
