IF you got taken, it was not from me, I worked with 10 different companies back then. We spoke about this a few months ago and I don't even remember ANY of the details, but we asked how to make it right anyway, within reason.

Posting here and not trying to contact me first was not a good way to help your situation.

Wow - this is like dejavu. He sent me logs like this claiming lots of traffic...and then after he got half of the $2000, he pointed the domain to my IP, and the traffic died. He had $1000, still had the domain, and told me if I didn't send the other $1000 I was shit out of luck. Nice Guy!

Hi there. I was wondering if you could give me some advice. I recently made an attempt to purchase the domain "web-sex.com" from Christian Amico. The price was $2K, or which I paid $1K down. After he received the initial $1K he redirected the DNS to on of my IP's. Within a month I was to give him the remaining $1K balance at which time he would switch all internic info/ownership of web-sex.com to me.
I purchased this site because he said it was getting 3500 to 4000 hits per day. Foolishly I took his word and his WSS counter's stats as the truth. The highest traffic day I ever received was about 800 hits. And this was only because Servint had one of their routers pointing traffic to my IP by accident. I contacted Servint, and in 2 days after I notified them, the traffic dropped even further.
I told Christian that I wanted my money back, and for a while I got no response. I tried to be VERY nice about the whole thing but that didn't work. So, after I began to git a bit more pissy he finally responded, and said he got screwed on the traffic when he initially purchased this domain. He said once he could sell the domain to another party he would refund my money.
From there things got worse. At our last contact a couple of days ago he said that he talked to his lawye, and that technically he didn't have to give me any money back. Christian also told me not to piss him off, to quit my bitching, and to find a buyer for the domain so that I could recoup my loses.
For the past couple of days the domain has been getting on 35 hits each day. In hopes of resolving this mess I told him that he could sell me web-sex.com and hotass.net and give me back $200 and I would consider the matter settled. He has not responded to that offer.

If you could offer me any advice or direction I would greatly appreciate it. Based on our "agreement" (see below) perhaps I have no recourse. If I don't get my money back the only thing I think I can do is trash him on all the boards in hopes that someone else won't make the mistake of dong business with him like I have. I want to trash him now, but part of me feels I should use caution and be little more patient. I have attached some of his emails below (his last response along with the "agreement"). Again, I sincerely appreciate your time and any advice you may have.

I Christian Amico agree to point the DNS entry of the URL for sale
WEB-SEX.COM to an IP of your choice immediately after a first initial
payment of $1,000 is received. When the second and final payment of
$1,000 is received totaling $2,000 I will change the Internic
registration information into your name.

If the second payment is not received with in 30 days of first
payment you the buyer forfeit the ownership of said web address and the
DNS entry get pointed back to an IP of my choice.

Well I'm truley sorry about the hits, I got fucked too. I was going to
make 4-5k and I haven't made shit.

I have sent all past emails and my agreement to my laywer and he says I
don't have to even pay you if I don't want to, But I said I would IF AND
WHEN I sell the domain. So keep emailing me....Whatever makes you happy,
but know this...DON'T PISS ME OFF, because you don't have a leg to stand
on.

P.S. Do somthing constructive instead of bitching and see if you can
sell it for me and recoop your loss.

For Over a year? Come on.. We were in your office like 3 months ago with Dave. And till this day I STILL don't remember this deal, I'm not going to just hand over $1000 for something I don't remember. For all I know you just were not happy with the domain and wanted your money back. I must have bought and sold 100's of names in the past and never had any problems.

I have been in this business since 1995 and know one has ever said I have screwed them on ANYTHING... But like I said you could have just emailed me and gave me more specifics and we could have come to some agreement.

Why are your hits and visits so drastically different? Looks like you are just redirecting to Cum Fiesta, so they should be the same?

Also, the most important # is the # of type-ins and not # of hits... as hits can be manipulated upward and then disappear once the sale is done.

I typically use escrow.com for domain purchases. Things weren't as simple in '97, and I had deals go sour now and then, I think unintentionally, in years past. But I've never had a prob using escrow...they keep a domain transactions flowing along smoothly, and protect both buyer and seller, unless escrow.com themselves goes belly-up during the transaction.
