i'm the high quality content mofo. having said that, traffic is still more important.

but doesn't high quality content create its own traffic via word of mouth etc. Ie., a smaller amount of initial promotions goes a long way with quality content/user experience than massive promo of crap content?

not without traffic in the first place.

traffic is fucking king.

and my sites are built around exclusive high quality video content. word of mouth helps, i have huge typins these days. it didn't get that way because i had some good video, taking up space on some servers.

not saying NO traffic. just little traffic ie., not buying it. maybe generate via SE placements, submissions, etc.

(1) shit content loads of traffic
(2) no traffic, great content
(3) great content, loads of traffic

i will take them in the following order: 3, then 1. 2 i'm not interested in.
