All my gay friends always call each other queen and etc, and the word queer is used on TV shows now. So if the word Queer is so offensive why is there Queer eye for the straight guy?

I don't get it, why are some things ok and others are not.

I know to some people being called queer or queen is like calling a black a ******, or a mexican a spick.

im sure many many many of us have used "hoes" "sluts" and "whores" to describe women in a derogatory way... and im sure that sells to the guys looking for material that is degrating to women.

but what about porn that degrades guys.. wouldnt using those words draw in the same kind of ppl: those who want to see gay men degrated.

Ok this is my opinion

Queen can be used by gay people when speaking to other gays just like Nigga can be used by blacks when speaking to other blacks.... If that makes any sense whatsoever...

Unless you are using Queen in reference to a drag queen then it would probably be ok.

Saying that a gay guy is queer would be like me saying that a straight guy is a fag.

Although the term fag has become widely used in the heterosexual community it is not polite to say for exmaple

This is my friend joe he is a fag (queer)

(although in the UK queer would proly be ok)

You would say this is my friend joe he is gay.

If you know the gay person that you are speaking about then it depends on the relationship that you have with them as to what words are acceptable.

For example my little brother can call me a faggot or a fag and I know that its not meant in a derogatory way so thats ok.

But if i dint know you and you called me a fag or a faggot or a queer or a queen , it would probably upset me.

As far as searching goes if a gay guy is doing a search he would be looking for NELLY types if the term queen was entered and i think that the only person that would enter queer would be someone that is straight or someone who is searching for something specifc (ie qeer as folk, queer eye for the str8 guy etc)

Sorry so winded but just my opinion
