i'm from wales and dont find it to bad. not worse than anywhere else but there is a fair bit of fighting and stuff. i mainly blame it on the amount that people drink in the UK. i would say it is one of the heaviest drinking counrties at the moment and this has an effect on the crime rate. but if its just piss heads fighting piss heads then there not really much of a problem as you just leave them to it
if the drunken fights were not included in the statistics in sure they would be a lot better and people generally dont get hurt in drunken brawls they just get busted by the cops and put as a statistic to make the cops looks like they are busting more people ass.
