Soft Claws Nail Caps for Cats

This is for all the people who want to declaw there kitties because they can't train their kitties to not scratch their furniture.

There is no way my kitty would keep them on, but if you started putting them on when they where babies it might work.

It would be like nail polish for kitties!!

I just keep all of my cats' claws trimmed, but a friend used those on her cat and really liked them.

Those look kinda strange, but useful. I'd prefer to attach some felt mittens and allow the cats to do something useful, like polish the wooden floor.. but maybe I'm just strange

I need those, my cat has a very annoying habit of sharpening his claws on my bare skin.. he is not happy when i throw a bunch of blankets on top of me.. he digs till he causes pain..the sadistic little fat ball of fur.

I dated a vet and I used to guilt trip him into pushing these. The company that sold them to him had all these different displays that you could have for free to put up in the office. I put a HUGE one in the waiting room on the floor, right by the desk, and then a smaller table top one, and a wall poster in every single exam room.

I tried to get him to just refuse to declaw, but he said he couldn't. The only ones he had were clear, though. He had some people who used them and liked them, but most of his clients had their own trimmers and just kept them cut really short.

My cat uses them... I got them for him when he was about 3 years old and took to them with no problem. I've been told it's a 50/50 gamble in using them, some cats hate them... some don't mind. It doesn't matter if they are young or not.

They definitely save your furniture! The only downside is I bought him a huge cat scratching tree & now he cant use it. He still tries to sharpen his claws... kinda funny to watch.

Definitely get the clear kind... too many people would look at my cat when I used to buy the blue ones and ask if I painted his nails, like it was cruel or inhumane.

I just give my cat plenty of things to scratch.

It keeps him away from the furniture...

But the blue ones look cool though

Mine too. We've never had a problem with him - including our leather furniture. We use those hard cardboard kitty scratchers. He knows what's his to scratch and what isn't. We also trim his nails from time to time to dull the tips - otherwise he may accidentally open a vein during rough play.

I declawed one cat.. NEVER AGAIN. Apparently the assistant was allowed to do the operation by himself, and he put the tourniquet on too tight.. his paw was the size of a golfball for a week, and all the fur and skin sloughed off. He's so good natured, though, he let us put ointment on and give him little bits of aspirin. That was HORRIBLE. If I hadn't been living in Tucson without a green card, I would have sued the clinic.

I already posted this in the 'depressed' thread in an effort to cheer people up, but this seems like a much more appropriate place... my cats (and gliders, and chins, and...):

Turd is the first can I've ever had that isn't declawed and isn't going to be. He would be devestated without being able to act like a friggin monkey all the time....
