Big Gurls need love too!!!

OK I am pretty new to all this so please be gentle
I run an amateur adult niche web site called BBWTori.com
The main model, you guessed it, is me and my girlfriends.
Now here is my issue, I also run a successful print magazine that has been in existence for more than 8 years called BIG BUTT Magazine. We are second to none in sales, beating ALL other big girl magazines out there.
My site is an extension of me and I am really unsure of where to go with it. I have had it on the web for like, 4 years but I was happy in my own little crowd, generating memberships that didn't really amount to much.
ANYWAY here is my question to all you knowledgeable people out there. As for generating traffic...what can I do?
I mean I KNOW there are big girl/BBW lovers out there, since my magazine sells so well, but HOW do I reach them on the web? Does anyone have any suggestions? I just did a redesign and I want to start fresh when generating traffic...can anyone help a sista out?

Why not ask your magazine subscribers where they go online?

Here are a few other suggestions...

1. Search Engines
2. TGPs
3. Exit swaps with other BBW sites
4. Yahoo Groups (and similiar online communities)

Before you start promoting yourself, take a good long look at your site. It needs some work.

seriously if you want advice this is probably a bad place to start looking. My advice find high traffic bbw sites, search on sextracker or something for the ones with a lot of traffic and begin to disect how they generate their traffic....find who they trade with and why, email the webmaster or webmistress...start there, begin to make connections and learn from others who work in your same niche....

oh and go fuck yourself....

If you must use popups, pop them on exit not on load. I trust you have your own tracking in place to monitor how many hits you send out versus how many hits you get in.

Pop ups are evil. I have ONE, on unload UNLESS they hit anything else on my website. I just added it this morning. I am not a pop up lover at ALL!

Look for alternative marketing.

I agree, and u also need to get rid of those pop ups. I felt I was bombarded by pops....

My Ex-husband SKULL-BUITRE ran off to Colombia with OUR money and screwed me after I helped him build OUR business.

1. Are you running a link site or a paysite? Every link on your site that leads to someone else is a potential lost sale. If you want to get people to join your site, don't give them any reason to get distracted and leave.

2. Link from your free sites to your paysites, but not the other way around. Your free sites (such as your yahoo club) should exist to funnel traffic to the pay site. Once the traffic hits the paysite you don't want to give it an easy way out. Once someone hits bbwtori.com do you really want them to visit your
yahoo club or do you want them to join?

3. Make it easy for members to join. Here too think of your cover and tour as a funnel, leading to your join page. Everything should lead to your join page. There should always be a link visible to 'see it all' or 'get access'.

4. Don't give them too much for free. Show them some pictures to excite them, but don't over look the judicious use of text to describe the content that is "too hot to show in the tour".

5. Unless you're going for the 1997 retro look, get a more contemporary design and use better photos. Avoid over compressing pics, the grainy look is not enticing.

6. Why is it a lair? Why not an a playpen, hangout, or club house? Other than the name there was nothing lair like about the site. Pick a voice and give the site some personality. Is the site just a heap of big-butt content or is it your lair? Emphasis your bio.

7. Take all of the promotional crap for other sites and put the best of it on an exit console or two. Take your best shot at the surfer, if he doesn't buy then you can try to send the hit off somewhere else.

Keep the popup hell and make a separate page for the affiliates if you have a program.

That is what I do. I keep the pop ups etc for the traffic that I create and send the affiliates to a tour with NO traffic leaks etc..

SIG TOO BIG! Maximum 120x60 button and no more than 3 text lines of DEFAULT SIZE and COLOR. Unless your sig is for a GFY top banner sponsor, then you may use a 624x80 instead of a 120x60.

Popups suck. I havent seen the popups on your site, but I dislike them :-) try exit popups, or try putting the popups on a rotating basis (I can give you a script if you need one) but, I can see how they can bring traffic.

Im not a traffic queen, I know little about it!

But, guys, Tori is a very well respected magazine publisher, treat her with some respect! Not to mention, shes a damn fine BBW :-)

go to tomsnewbiebooster and voltar's and learn the basics of traffic generation and site design. When you have that working for you, start an affiliate program and of course, promote your site all over big butt magazine.

Yeah, I get decent traffic from the picka site. However, they dont enforce their own rules, so people really abuse their popups (4 is their max, I know a few sites with 8-10 of the picka lists alone)

Being you have your own magazine, did you ever try putting your address in there? Free advertisement? You already have their attention and interest there, I'd imagine they'd visit your web site as well? I was always curious how print ads convert into web traffic. Offer them exlcusive content, that they can't see in the magazines.

From the girls that I have heard that have posed for big butt, they said they didnt really see big jumps in memberships or traffic to their sites. They did get a lot of mail to their mailboxes (if they disclosed them) and those that did videos and had paper catalogs did well.

Most guys that buy magazines are not going to join a porn site, even if our product makes more sense financially. But, I would assume they would be more likely to buy videos or other tangible items, since they have already bought a tangible item, we can assume they dont have to hide it too hard.

and that isn't even easy to do. I posed for a UK based BBW nudie mag a few years ago (called Belly) and watched as hey struggled to get into profit despite having a healthy subscriber base. He tried to really push videos but they didn't sell. His bbw dating line did better but still not enough.
