I am not sure if you have tried this yet but go to http://www.sidestep.com and install the browser plugin. It will search multiple airlines for you
I found one SYD-LAS but it was pricey like $2593 R/T for around those dates.

Ozman, yep. I'v given up. My birthday is on the 29th dec and new years only a couple of days later. It's a family time here. I thought the show was on the 12th-15th, thats why I was excited before. But to leave on new years day. That sucks!
