you should do a search on google for Arsenal football club in London and ask around there if they want to buy it. I say that because their fans are called gooners. It might be of value to one of the fans.

Good Point though being an Arsenal fan we never called ourselves 'goons' as the goon is used to insult someone.

You'll find the word "GOON" is a trade mark, from memory owned by the estate of the late Spike Millagan. The Goon show was a popular radio show and had several spin offs.

You'd want to be carefull about the use to which you put that domain.

i can't think the word 'goon' can be trademarked.

            it's a common english word.

True.. Companies trademark common words all the time, but they're not enforceable.

Section 45 of the federal Trademark Act, commonly referred to as the "Lanham Act," defines a "trademark" as "any word, name, symbol, or device, or any combination thereof, used by a person... to identify and distinguish his or her goods, including a unique product, from those manufactured or sold by others and to indicate the source of the goods, even if that source is unknown." Over the years, trademark protection has dramatically expanded to cover far more than merely names, logos and slogans. In recent years, sound, smell, color, and "trade dress" have all been held to be trademarks. "Trade dress" is the overall visual impression created by the décor of an establishment, or packaging and/or design of a product.
