    Testing new employees?

Does anyone know of an online or offline test to give a potential new employee?

It's hard to know in advance if a new employee can spell etc. until they start the job.

I am looking to hire a sales girl but I need to see if she is smart enough to complete basic tasks.

    Important factors include

    - Spelling/Grammar
    - Overall intelligence
    - Ability to think fast

Thanks in advance for any help.

even if she completes that test with positive results
doesnt mean shell be productive in your business environment.

Only a test-period (a week/month max) will give you proper results.

Agreed. However if the basics are in line then we can work to mold her into what we want. I am currently hiring based on an interview which doesn't tell me if they can write professional letters, email etc.

I just want to know if they can pass a simple intelligence test before starting.

        Hi Brad

i would suggest that you make up some sort of test that fits exactly what they will be doing in there day to day job, like give them the details of a REAL document that you need tohave put together and see how things go with it.

then only hire them for a trial period to see how things work out, but i am sure you thought of that already

There are all sorts of professional aptitude tests at brainbench.com I think for just about everything. Gotta pay for them though.

LOL this is great. I am going to make my own test with all the questions being offered here. Too bad I am not hiring models.

BrainBench.com is along the lines of what I am after. Thanks Hue G. Pness for that.

I can always count on this forum for some funny replies to keep my morning going.

as a precursor to your consideration of a prospective employee, maybe have her visit emode.com and get a free (yet basic) IQ test and print up the results for you. Sounds invasive and almost insulting to do to someone who you are considering for employment, but then again so is having to piss in a fucking cup. Then give the ol' tried and true probationary one month trial period of employment. Shit, who knows?........good luck
