I cannot believe they can only target one group and have a valid lawsuit... acacia wouldnt pick on those companies because they would get squashed.
They came up with a pretty good extortion scheme. Sue adult guys and use alot of legal heat to try and get some licenses. And using sweetheart deals on a handful of bigger companies to try and give credibility to their claims and get more companies to cave.
I think the end result will be much like their v-chip thing. It wil get invalidated and those that hold out will get the last laugh.

It because they're after precedents. Acacia views the adult industry as "low hanging fruit". They obviously feel that its easier to intimidate and get legal judgements against adult companies than the likes of Microsoft.Originally posted by GigaChris

I basically told them that I wanted to purchase their product to stream video.. told them my concerns about acacia and their patent and fees... asked if I purchased their program and streamed video if I would be responsible for these fees... and if so, why when I am paying for the software to create such files... again... nothing.Comment

I notice that there are a few rather glaring omissions in the scope of their patents, namely Canada, and Australia. Does anyone know anything about this? Why would Acacia not file in Canada or Australia?
