    If someone owed you money

    What is the best way to get it back?


    lets say you were concerned about appearances.

    and they were just being idiotic...by law they owe the money...but just won't pay.

    any ideas?

          Well that depends if you have a "paper" trail leading to the fact they "do" owe you the money.

          If you do have said paper trail, then take them to court, I'm sure you guys in Canada have a "small claims court" like we have in the UK.

          I love taking people to court I have 2 cases on the go right now

                      there is indeed a concrete paper trail..that is the funny part.

                                  Oh they are in the states, then send them a letter to the affect your adding interest @ 18% over base per month for all the outstanding blah blah, back date it as well then sue them... you can do that in the US.....

                                          legally i mean..i know in canada thereare places i could call..and very quickly they would be paying up

                                              if is worth your time... sue them... hell, sometimes it's more a matter of principle and not $$$... I have a case against our local chamber of commerce for not paying... only 1700.00... and the collection aggency and the attorney will get most of it.. but it's a matter of letting them know that just because I am a home business, I am still a business and need to be paid.

                                                              Honestly, you need to think about whether or not the amount owed is worth the hassle of getting it. Being in Canada does create more of a hassle and you might be better off "writing it off".

                                                              Some people are scammers, plain and simple. Grab them by the balls. But do it behind scenes, it's more effective. Anyone can talk shit on a message board by "outing someone", but not many have the balls to get off their ass and do something about the problem.

                                                                                                                                          Thinking I need a long vacation away from everyone and everything... maybe go up to Montana in a cabin for a month or so... clear my head and such... maybe come back with a better attitude or something..

                                                                                                                                                      Find out where the person lives buy a plane ticket , show up and get your money. This has ALWAYS worked for me.. Face to face they dont really have an option other than to pay you or ******* *** ***** **** ***.

                                                                                                                                                      P.s. it helps to carry something threatning but not illegal , like a baseball bat or a golf club.
