Lensman, without even thinking twice about it. Amp and I talked about this a long time ago and he told me that the debt was Duane's. If Amp had a change of heart on the situation, which he clearly has now that the sites are launched, I absolutely would have done whatever he thought was needed to make the situation right. I'm not a deadbeat like so many other people.

And I'm still sitting here wondering if this is all some rouse, some big joke of a thread that we're all going to laugh about.

Like this couldn't have been handled simply by emailing Brad. Brad is solid. He's never ripped anyone off. He offered to pay Amp, and amp declined. What the hell makes you (Lens) and Amp believe that he wouldn't have paid if he had been asked to privately? I wholeheartedly believe he would have. He is one of the most honest people in the business.

And even if you didn't believe he would pay (for some fucked up reason), you couldn't have at least <i>tried</i> before dragging someone's name through the mud?

He paid for those designs in good faith. He offered to pay the original designers for them. Amp said that it was duane that owed him, and not Brad. I don't see the problem.

Using the stolen car analogy:

Amp sells his car to Duane, and Duane sells it to Brad. Duane never pays Amp for the car, and Brad realises, oh shit.. this car is stolen. Brad offers to pay Amp for the car, having already lost a bunch of money to Duane. Amp declines, and says he'll get the money that Duane owes him. That means Amp ends up with the cash he is entitled to. Brad gets the designs he paid for. Duane ends up with nothing.

The point here isn't to get paid, it's to lynch Brad.
If the point was to get paid, a phone call would've been made the minute Brad announced his program.

Brad has offered multiple times in this thread to pay for the sites - just as he did a year ago. And Amp is not speaking up - just as he didn't speak up a year ago.

It's a lynching, plain and simple. Money was never the goal.

here's the scenario I'm imagining on how that might work...

a lil story that'd go something like this...

You buy a design or two, whatever, for 6k...

few months later you find out you got jacked by some jackers...

so you go to try and rectify the jacking with the people that originally got jacked....

you consider all jack-worthy offenses unjacked....

and move forward with the expensive piece of work you've just acquired that took cash, time and some extra bonus smoothing you didn't plan on...

kinda like when you get bacon strips in your undies...you wash them, sometimes a second time with bleach...but ya still wear them sooner or later eh?
