Just saw my first Arnold Ad

he's typically republican. he wants to step on the poor people.

He was stating in the commerical he wants to tax Indian casinos like crazy in California.

being Canadian and living in the north I'm familiar with the native populations on reserves here and the troubles they have. Most live on welfare or worse. They grow up in an endless cycle of dispare and poverty. Casinos are one of the FEW industries that they seem to THRIVE at.
My belief always leans towards the path of least resistance. If Natives want to work in casinos LET THEM and ENCOURAGE them to do so. I'd rather see them working and having self worth than sucking off the state on welfare. Leave them the fuck alone - we've fucked them over ENOUGH thoughout history - let them at LEAST have a HINT of a chance at a life with some dignity making their own money. If that means some Tax breaks to get them off their asses - so be it. I've sceen the state support many reserves here and it isn't pretty.

A working Native is 1000X better than a drunk (or worse) native living off welfare - and costs a HELL OF A LOT LESS to society if they make their own money.

You've got a lot to learn about CA Indian casinos. Most are run by huge corporations, and just exploit the indian as the front man.

yeah i grew up in new mexico where we had lots of "indian casinos" as well, and my experience has been its closer to what you said as well. indian casinos did not in anyway cut down on the number of drunk native americans killing people in drunk driving accidents and that's statistical fact.

it's the same old story. the rich get richer and the poor get poorer. the same goes for native americans and their casinos. a few of them get rich, but how much do you really is trickling down to the average native american living on a reservation?

I am a former firefighter. My station responded to the Soboba Indian Reservation. Those fucks are the most racist people I have ever seen. The Black vs. White racism is nothing compared to the indians. Tax their asses!

I'm sure all the tribes people are getting the cash to... indian casinos are a joke where did they get the money to build these multi million dollar casinos all being on welfare (not knocking them but)? Italian friends perhaps?

Name a huge native corp. It's the same people behind Vegas. They get the indians in on the deal, sign them as official "owners" and front all the initial capital. Most of them are hidden or silent majority partners, but there's already a fucking Harrah's "indian casino" in San Diego.

Of course the tribes get a good chunk of cash, but the real money makers are behind the scenes ... and sitting pretty with a good public image and tax status.

so let me get this straight - since natives use some help from outsiders they should have all their current tax rights and privlidges removed so that the ones working in the casinos are forced BACK to the reserves to be put on welfare.

I think Arnold is talking out his ass. I do not believe he could tax them even if he wanted to.

I am interested in knowing why his campaign ads are running in Canada though. Does he not know that CA can mean California or Canada?
