    download.com starts pay per download

    for the software developers. It will be a kind of PPC billing. No more $79 fee/software listing. I guess this will drive the cost up and weed out many developers.

                  Who says no more $79/listing? From what I read, the new PPD system seems to be in addition to the $79 standard listing. Sort of a "premium listing" program.
