Its a good place.
Expensive.
Very hard to find a spot to park your car (mine was towed once for parking in the restricted area - which is almost everywhere)
Rome is beautifull.
Food is awesome - esp pizza.

Visited for a month for a cousins wedding. Toured the whole country. Recommend Venezia (Venice) and Firenze (Florence) then Roma (Rome), skip Napoli (Naples) unless your major destination is the Isle of Capri or the ruins of Pompeii. Best cappucino and proscuitto I've ever had was in Italy.

If you are not used to European traffic, ESPECIALLY Italian traffic, I would strongly advise you NOT to rent a scooter. It might kill you literally.

nope... wasn't supposed to land in Italy. But we lost 2 engines and the left side flaps. Oh yeah.... she was smokin' pretty good by the time we hit.

Spain was okay.... I wouldn't go back though. Too far behind the times, and it's really kind of a filthy little place.

in fact, I can't think of anywhere in Europe that I would ever want to go back to. France sucks ass. Had enough of Germany to last me. England is too weird. hmmm..... maybe Denmark. Denmark was nice.

Depends where in Spain you go. Madrid and Barcelona is ok. And where we live, Puerto Banus, Marbella. Not too much filth here :-)

Marbella is all the way in the south, in between Malaga and Gibraltar. It's about one hour drive to Gibraltar from here

it's actually a tourism destination... not a bad place in all, but I still found it to be much like I envision Mexico to be. I stayed in the nicest hotel in town, and it was still not as nice as most Motel 6's. Lot's of people hustlin' you for one thing or another on the streets... everybody's tryin' to sell ya something. But again, it was nice for a trip. I just don't think I would go back. Not at this time anyway. Maybe later in life.

hahaha! i second that. i did a complete tour of europe for over a month. Rome was fucked to drive in. bastards. i thought Moscow was bad. Rome was the worst city i have ever driven in.

Florence is probably the most romantic city in the world. Make sure to spend some quality time after dark with a good bottle of wine, listening to the sounds of the streets with a loved one beside you. Doesn't get much better than in Florence. The Amalfi coast is also incredible, albeit a bit crowded in the summer.
