Apparently now.. My son and husband have both always loved black olives... My daughter never did.. until today. I cracked open a can, and the children (with the husband snatching what he can get here and there) have effectively demolished the can. Better than candy I guess, but it leaves me as the odd man out, being the only one in the family who doesn't like them. Oh well
I'm the odd man out in my family..

have you ever tried some of the greek olives like calamatas with the pits. they're excellent. but i think you're right the biggest draw for me if the salt. i could eat a whole jar and still be looking for more.Originally posted by LadyMischief

i've tried to like them, I really have but I just can't stand them...any colour. I'm can be like a crack whore for a good pickle or marinated mushroom though.
My dad, sister and uncle are like that with them though. Them fighting over the bowl of olives is all part of the christmas ritual at my grandmother's house.Comment

Yeah true about the salt -- in the summer when I sweat a lot I gobble up a whole jar as a snack... Wierd thing is if you look at the nutrition info on the side of the jar there's really no vitamins or anything... but they have to be good for you...Originally posted by smack
